Re: Attention teen and adult injured TBPI, Awareness needs your help!

<r>I don't think prevention is really a factor in tbpi. Altho I would like to see kids banned from using ATV's! <br/> A few years back when Liz and myself helped with UBPN awareness we did produce a brochure with tbpi info in it, does Ubpn not still have that? But, from a personal point of view, the...

Re: New to Board

<t>Tell your doctor I've had 3 babies without any pain relief, and the pain of my tbpi arm in the first few months was worse than that. BUT it does usually get less with time, especially if you don't have avulsions or they are fixed, and I also have to say it became easier to deal with the pain afte...

Re: Row Emma Row!

Amanda Everlove, the tbpi paralympian, broke a World and Paralympian record in the 100m Butterfly on Sunday in the heats and got a silver in the final. She's in a few other swimming events as well. She has no use of her arm! Well done Amanda!!

Re: deoderant issues

<t>The problem checmicals associated linked with possibly triggering breast cancer are parabens, which mimic oestrogen. Most deodorants don't contain them any more but always check the label, some still do. The biggest problem was when they were used together with underarm shaving, and many shaving ...

Re: Took a stack

get hold of your doctor and ask, would be my advice. Its probly just an extreme case of hitting the funny bone but when you fall like a rag doll weird stuff happens, so check it out.
Hope everythings ok, fingers crossed!

Re: deoderant issues

<t>If my girl doesn't wear it I can smell her from OUTSIDE the classroom when I'm waiting to pick her up-she showers twice a day!But she is VERY active. <br/> I too have that deep armpit, my injury is pretty bad. I use a rollon and can shove it in there ok, but it's never as effective as on the unaf...

Re: Considering Amputation?

<t>mike, I know where you're coming from. I'm 28 years in and it's probly been about 5 yrs I've seriously thought about it. They offered me the chop about 3 years in, I wasn't ready then and declined. But now I think it would really help for all the reasons you say, and the dragging weight on my pin...

Re: Lack of Vitamin D may Worsen Chronic Pain

<t>The best source of vit D is sunlight, make sure you get out without lotion at least once a day. I smother the bpi arm if the sun's not too bad but leave the rest uncovered. People smearing their kids in lotion from first thing is causing lack of vitamin D absorption. The good news for pasty Brits...

Re: SUN damage bpi arms

<r>Wow Kath sorry to hear that.<br/> I use lots of sunblock, but only the ones that are mainly zinc oxide, the chemicals in the others can be dangerous. Here's one that's really common-and dodgy-check list on right for other names it's listed on the label as. <URL url="http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.c...
