Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: 37 year male from the Netherlands, TBPI in Sept. 1996 with C8TH1 avulsion on my not dominant right arm. Nerve grafts reconstruction from leg in Nov. 1996 didn't help a lot, no hand, wrist, biceps or triceps function, only some sense. Now planning a operation to amputate above the elbow and get a bionic arm (myo electric prosthesis) with a target muscle reinnervation in Vienna around Nov 2015

TBPI from the Netherlands > bionic arm

Hi, I'm looking for some information about the possibility to amputate my arm and get new functionality (elbow, wrist and pinch grip) with a myo-prothesis. Does anybody have their TBPI arm amputated after a long period (19 years) and or does anybody had a operation with Free Muscle Transplantation / Targeted Muscle Reinnervation? Most likely my triceps and biceps are going to be placed and connected in my chest and above the elbow comes the chop, according to my surgeon in Vienna.

Thanks, greetings Sebastiaan
