Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: Torn rotator cuff on 11/7/2012. Therapy & injections didn't help. I had surgery on my left arm 3/18/14. I had severe pain from my shoulder to fingertips immediately after surgery. My diagnosis was Brachial Plexus Neuritis. I had a second surgery 6/5/14 because the anchor backed out & broke in 2 places. I've had severe pain & taking narcotics ever since. Four EMGs, 8 MRIs & 5 Xray show severe proximal median & radial nerve damage. The radial nerve is regenerating & median nerve is not; my deltoid is atrophied. Despite PT 3/4 times a week, I am unable to lift my left arm & use my index finger. I've had 7 doctors who tell me to wait it out but I feel that waiting is hindering my chances of full recovery. I am searching for a Dr that specializes in this type of injury. The UBPN website has helped me immensely, making me aware of info I was not given. I'm hoping research will help locate the right specialist for me. Any help is appreciated

Tom, thanks for your suggestion earlier. I have since left a message for my doctor to call me back. (Twice) in order to get a referral to a bpi specialist. I haven't heard back in 2 days. I will continue to pester them until I get results! Thanks. Denise

Hi Denise,

Just posted in the other thread you started, I'll say it again, reach out to Mayo on your own and see what medical records they need you to send them. I wouldn't wait for your existing Dr's to get back to you.

There are other BPI Dr's that are excellent as well, most of them are listed here in the resource center.
