I've been thinking about that. Special software, special keyboard or special keyboard settings (like dvorak).
However now I decided to go for the normal keyboard option (perhaps with sticky keys). That way I won't have to depend on my own devices. Been busy a week now, expect to have to practice a couple of months more. Took me a long time to learn two handed and now i have to start all over again.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: 6/12/10 avulsion of several roots due to motorcycle accident. So far I've
had two nerve transfers: intercostal to biceps and spinal accessory to
superscapular. The superscapular is working, holding my shoulder in place so I don't have to wear a sling all the time, and I can 'lift' that arm a few degrees away from my body. The bicep is firing but not enough to flex, yet.

I strongly suggest that if you're using a PC, you check out using AutoHotKey, which is FREE, to run a one-handed script. Instructions are at:

I am in the middle of grad school - lots of typing, i'm currently writing my literature review. I type almost as fast one-handed as I ever did with two, and I was no slouch. My last job (which I lost due to my accident) was partly technical writing, so I got plenty of practice.

hope that helps someone out,
