Re: fatigue of good arm

Hi Jeff, 25 years since my injury and I pulled all five out, so basically no use of the arm except bicep. I have done everything with my arm, moved myself and a bunch of friends more times than I can count (for a while another buddy and I referred to ourselves as "three arms will move you"...

Re: Reteaching your brain to heal.....

Hi John, I had my surgery over 25 years ago, so might be a bit fuzzy but close. I had the intercostal to bicep. I originally had to breath deep to get the bicep to fire but sneezing or coughing it fired on its own. After some period of time, I was able to get the bicep to move without breathing deep...

Re: Athletic Arm Sling

Just got this picture from Aaron. He was a second yellow belt in this picture and is now a green belt, (I have no clue what that means, but I am sure some of you will)

He is ordering a new sling and it might be black........any symbolism there?

Great job Aaron, keep it up!

Re: Overly Optomistic

When I read your post, I was thinking the same thing Chris said, have her read some of the TBPI forums and even this thread so she can get a better understanding of this injury. I love having optimistic people in my life, especially since I am a half full type of person myself, so I would work on ge...

BPI's at Challenged Athletes Weekend!

Hi, I just sent this e-mail to everyone who has purchased or inquired about the athletic arm sling but I wanted to make sure everybody on here knew about this and got invited too. I know about the BPI camp and don't want anybody to think I am trying to take anything away from that wonderful event, I...

Re: wondering about adapted bikes

Agree 100% with Heddi, tandom splitter for brakes and both shifters on one side. She can use the brake/shifter for the real derailer and use a handlebar tip shifter (usually for triathlon handlebars) for the front derailer. Here is a pic of me in a triathlon, kinda fuzzy, but you get the idea. Also, ...

Re: Athletic Activities you are doing!

Way to go Mike,

I almost signed up for that here in Southern California, but the team didn't work out, I heard the hardest part is the lack of sleep and the fact that you never really get rest after each leg.

How many miles did you do personally?

Re: Hi all, Newbie here saying hi...

Today is actually the "midpoint" of my life so far with this injury. My injury happened 1 week before my 20th Bday, and today is 2 weeks before my 40th. It may sound funny, but physically this injury was the worst thing that ever happened to me, but emotionally and psychologically the bes...

Water Skiing last week!

Thought I would share a few pictures from this past week, tons of fun and always love getting out on my ski.
