Re: BPI and cosmetic Plastic Surgery
<t>Kath,<br/> Sounds like you've been put through the ringer with implants and corrective procedures. I don't know how well I would have handled that all. It surely points out the reality, that this is something that is in its 'infancy' stage and things about it have to be worked out. Thanks for you...

Re: Living with BPI Handbook
<t>Henry,<br/> Many thanks to you for helping the masses! I'm still new to this outfit, so I'd be willing to pay top dollar for some handy tips to help keep my temper down due to those ever present frustrating one handed moments of agony. I hope I can be wise enough to contribute.<br/> <br/> Cheers,...

Re: Anyone with BPI and No pain
<t>Aurelia,<br/> One of the text books on Brachial Plexus Injury that I have, mentions that a small minority of individuals that avulse just the upper nerves (c5, c6, or c7) in the bracial plexus do not experiance any of the extreme nerve pain, expetially if it is just c5 or c6. But almost %100 expe...

Re: NEW INJURY AND SCARED
<t>Hello Karen,<br/> The other test that I found to be the most informative, and I believe should be manditory, as to how much damage was done and to what nerves exactly, was the Myelogram & a CT Myelogram. It's best for determining if nerve roots are avulsed or not and if rootlets are available...

Re: BPI and cosmetic Plastic Surgery
Karl, I've met up with Dr. Edelman, who was highly recommended, but not specifically for BPI, just peripheral nerve surgery. I wanted to have a local doctor in case of need, since I had surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I found him to be a very good man, and quite intelligent, but up to date ...

Re: BPI and cosmetic Plastic Surgery
<t>Ian,<br/> I think your idea is great, why not? People that are disfigured from burns try their best to correct what damage thats been done, why not for TBPI? I'm an extemely physical man that loves to use my body to dive into adventure and trouble at times, or at least was last year before my acc...

Re: dark hole - medication or not
<r>Hello Sue,<br/> So sorry that you have all this crap to deal with, I know its overwhelming, but you will get through it, you must trust in that. The advice that helped me the most when I first started trying to harness all of the burdens of doctors and surgeries and life changes was something my ...

Re: i am new and looking for support....
<t>Null,<br/> I'm going in tomorrow to try and get tricept return by borrowing from either the somewhat working ulnar or median nerves that feed my somewhat functional hand. And yes, Dr. Bishop and Dr. Shin will be there with Dr. Spinner, to work on the old mess heap. Wish me luck, I'll be the first...

Re: i am new and looking for support....
<t>Null, I'm sorry Dr. Spinner didn't use a little more tact than that. It's not like we don't have enough trouble to deal with, than to have a care giver shove that kind of BS in your face. He has been nothing but completely kind and generous with me, and it troubles me, that he'd say that, conside...
