Re: Help-Phantom nerve pain - Chronic Nerve Pain

Hi Abby I am the other Avulsion Mayo couldnt fix. You can see my story to the right. I have had all of your guys symptoms and still do. I have found that Gabapentin and Tylenol take care of most of the phantom pain but as for the cause, look for a pimple looking thing on the spinal cord somewhere in...

Re: New msember as of 7/20/12

Man, I understand your pain. I have narcotics for when its really bad. Maybe Maryjane will help but myself, I use Gabapentine about 2800mg daily. Mine was MC also. Rearended by a car doing about110+mph as opposed to my 70mph. I think I tried to hold onto the bike as I was pulled onto her hood with m...

Re: Newbie - BPI

Hi Leslie, I've done a lot of research on BPI and the best are Mayo in Mn, Dr Spinner and team, but there are no real standouts in Tx. California and the east coast have some buy I would advise Mayo in Mn. I have been for surgery and am recuperating. I have several follow up spots and my IMs pays al...

Re: motorcycles and BPI

I had ridden for 40 yrs in seven different states and I had never heard of this. I follow several mags and nothing about this was ever said. When I got to the trauma hospital, I have been told, the Physical Therapist came in lifted my arm dropped it, looked at my sister and said 'Yep, still doesn't ...

Re: GRACILIS MUSCLE TRANSFER

Hi Pat, I'm behind you by about a year. I had my surgery in June of this year. Still in casts for stabilization. Pain is bearable with light drugs. I have morphine and OxyC but only using Gabapentine (2400mg daily). I am not expecting movement until Dec or so but would like to follow your successes ...

I'll continue to get stronger but I think productive, by my hands, work is finished. I can think and direct but I have to be in bed or my recliner due to stamin...

Surgery Done

I havent said much since I heard I was going to Mayo in Mn to consult with Dr Spinner and his team. The consultation trip was a two day whirlwind with appts filling both days at 12 hrs apiece! I went home knowing I was in good hands and thought I knew everything that would happen on the return trip....
