Re: Amputation...

Hi Andrew, I think I remember when you got injured, and it's great to see you doing so well. I have in the past done a lot of supporting of people with this injury, and my experience of those that choose amputation has been overwhelmingly positive. Not one regretted it, all commented on how much fre...

Re: motorcycles and BPI

In the UK the hospital staff told me they refer to BPI as "biker's palsy", all number crunching done about the incidence of traumatic bpi have found the commonest cause by far is motorcycle accident. Back in the pre helmet days, bikers whose accident was serious enough to cause a bpi also ...

Re: ROLL CALL ( LURKERS TOO!!!!!!! )

Motorcycle accidents are still top as causes but there are lots of others. Scroll back a couple of pages to see the last number crunch.<br/> Welc...

Re: Anyone have severe nerve pain in chest and/or left thumb pad?

<t>Chest pain would suggest that there may be C4 involvement, which doesn't fit with your C7/T1 scenario. But I'm NOT a doctor and chest pain needs looking at. The thing is, tbpi often experience cortex plasticity which can mean that the pain messages we get are not necessarily related to the site o...

Re: Anyone ever seen Dr. Tiel in Jackson MS for BPI?

<t>Dr Tiel has been a tbpi specialist for longer than any other doctor I know of in the USA but has the reputation of being conservative. He is also extremely ethical and won't recommend costly surgery if the benefits are not likely to be great. The Mayo are the top team as far as more recent experi...

Thanks Francine, it was me who posted that! You know how I question EVERYTHING....LOL!
Glad it's helped. But, sometimes....I wish we didn't know this stuff. And, sometimes, I get so MAD that 'they' are still selling it to us!

Re: DPLA - Natural Pain Killing Power

<r>I've checked it out here, I can get 50 500mg tabs for NZ$35.90. But I'm on an ssri antidepressant, and I think the DPLA might interfere with that from what I'm reading. Still, my pains ok at the mo so I'll leave it be and think about this if/when I get off the anti-d's. Plus I only pay $8 for 3 m...
