Anyone here with a BPI play violin?

My daughter has a LOBPI and has not had surgery because her function and recovery were excellent but she does not have complete supination so she has been playing a right handed violin for the last 2 years but now is having trouble getting to the higher playing levels because she has trouble keeping...

Handstands, cartwheels, basic strength issues?

So are there any OBPI children on here that can do these gymnastic activities well? My 10 year old desperately wants to do cartwheels, walk overs, handstands and the rest of the flips her friends can do, but she just doesn't have the strength in her affected arm and has really lagged behind everyone...

Re: How many kids have sensory issues

OMG, my 10 year old, Jessica, has what is considered to be a "mild" injury (no surgeries and very good function), but she has extreme sensory issues! She is SO particular about her clothing, fabric, seams, embellishments, embroidery, etc., and she has had this sensitivity for as long as I ...

Osteotomy vs Capsule Release surgery

I've taken my 10 year old to see Dr. Waters and Dr. Kozin (both of whom I have tremendous respect for and both saw my daughter as a baby). Both doctors said she would benefit from surgery; however, Dr. Waters said Osteotomy and Dr. Kozin said Capsule Release. I'd like to hear from parents whose chil...

Re: jury verdict

Hi , To find a lawyer today is tough to do that will do any case on contingence  I found it very hard to find one for a discrimination case I had. If a lawyer does not take your case that does not, mean you dont have a case , they just can not take alot on Contingence, That what I found in my...

Re: jury verdict

Ken, I can certainly appreciate that not every case is a winner, but regardless of whether you feel certain this case will bring a million dollar plus verdict, you need to be able to respond to DOZENS of emails to let someone know their case is not strong, or even better, just let them know that you...

Re: jury verdict

That's great Ken! I sure wish you would have responded to my 3 dozen or so emails and attempts to contact you since I sent you my daughter's medical records 2 years ago and you promised that they were being reviewed by "medical experts". It certainly would be nice if she had resources for ...

Re: Sudden onset arm pain 9 years old no surgery

Thank you everyone! I know this post is a few months old and that's because the pain had gone, but now it seems to be back and I was assuming it was only after great physical activity like gymnastics or anything where she was using muscle strength because I can actually feel the knots in the muscles...

Sudden onset arm pain 9 years old no surgery

My 9 year old daughter Jessica has a LOBPI and recovered without surgery, though her injury was not mild. Although it is not possible for anyone who isn't trained what to look for to know that she has an injury, she doesn't have any external rotation, and full supination comes only with compensation...

gymnastics?

Anyone have older kiddos into gymnastics? My Jessica has a mostly recovered LOBPI and no one knows she has an injury (unless we tell them), but of course she still doesn't have external rotation and although she is quite strong, her left arm is a bit weaker than the right (she can left a 2 lb weight...
