UBPN 2021 Scholarship Winners!

UBPN 1st Place Scholarship Winners!

Congratulations to the 2021 UBPN academic scholarship 1st place recipients John Wiehe (OBPI) and Declan O'Hara (TBPI), each to be awarded $500! There were many excellent applicants again this year and UBPN congratulates ALL applicants on their endeavors.

Two 2nd place winners (to be awarded $250 each) will be announced in the next few days, as it was difficult to choose just one person for each category as each and every applicant is more than worthy of this scholarship!

UBPN would like to thank our two anonymous donors who have made these scholarships possible, and we’re excited to continue to offer these academic and trade school scholarships again in 2022! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Meet John Wiehe - John has an obstetrical brachial plexus injury and doesn’t let anything stand in his way! A few words from John: “My thanks to the UBPN scholarship committee, I hope to use this scholarship in pursuit of my goal towards working in a Children's Hospital. For my BPI community, mental health and physical health are intricately intertwined, be sure to "do your exercises" for both. Much love to all.”

Meet Declan O’Hara - Declan has a traumatic brachial plexus injury and is proving that you can do anything you set your mind to! A few words from Declan: "Thank you UBPN for believing in me and helping me pursue my dreams. This scholarship will help me continue my studies in the Electrical Engineering program at Oregon state university this fall. Thank you again for UBPN in supporting all of us with BPIs and believing in each and every one of us, it means more than words could ever express."
