OBPI HAND/FINGER BITING

We spent 6 hours in emerg yesterday.
Emilio chewed his index finger VERY badly. Bunch of skin off and ...ugh...just awful to look at.
we took him to emerge and waited 6 hours for them to clean him up.
Thank God it is not infected.
They advised us to keep it clean and place Neosporin on it.

Just wondering if your child has done this and what you did to avoid this.

I was thinking of placing a sock over his hand but he may notice his hand more with it on.

I know its great that he notices his affected arm but I wish he wouldnt chew it so badly.
we are 4.5months post primary.
