Atlanta area

Post by Jill - Briana's mom »

I am in the greater Atlanta area and am the mother of a LOBPI daughter. I was wondering if their are any support groups around here or if anyone else from this area would be interested in one here if I wanted to try and start one. You can reply here or email me at smartfam5@comcast.net.

I would be interested in starting a group in the Georgia area. I am almost 2 hours south of Atlanta. My daughter is currently under the care of a doctor in the Atlanta area. Please keep me informed.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I am happy to see all of you are wanting to get together and are willing to travel in order to make it happen! I am still hoping for a few more in our area but will start trying to get us all a date.
